Obesity In The USA

We all know that the topic of "weight" or weight loss is highly discussed in this country. What I find when talking with people on this topic, is that they have specific goals to shed weight due to the upcoming summer season, and all it manifests. The problem is we don't practice the correct habits, discipline or the consistency to ensure a healthy lifestyle over the long haul. We need to educate ourselves and others to understand that carrying an inordinate amount of weight, can cause serious health risks (i.e; high blood pressure, gout, heart disease and so on). Statistics show that we are the most obese and what we should do to drastically improve upon this is 1) Read more (health publications, books, WebMD 2) Use our friends and family members who adhere to sound health practices and emulate them 3) Constantly challenge ourselves and find the inner peace and strength within to combat those habits from creeping back into our lives 4) Last but not least, stay away from weight loss supplements or over the counter remedies. Three cups of Green Tea a day is much more satisfying and will present longterm value than drug induced fixes.

Make sure you exercise, get your 7-8 hours of sleep, consume at least 8 glasses of water a day (+ more), eat plenty of fruits and veggies and most of all, set short and long term goals in order to target your "dream" weight.

We have all the tools and resources around us to improve our physical and our overall well-being. Take a minute and visit this website http://www.obesity.org

Let's get to work!
